Julien Benneteau causes Stanislas Wawrinka upset to reach Cincinnati semis

Julien Benneteau comes from a set down to beat Stanislas Wawrinka to a place in the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Open.

Julien Benneteau will fight for a place in the final of the Cincinnati Open after sealing a 1-6 6-1 6-2 victory over Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka.

The Swiss pro stormed to an early lead in the US by earning a double break, but Benneteau launched a fightback in the second set.

The 32-year-old grabbed a break at the first time of asking to give himself the edge on the hard court, and after Wawrinka squandered two break points of his own, Benneteau struck again to take the second set.

The momentum continued to swing in Benneteau's favour as he grabbed the first break point of the third set, leaving Wawrinka on the backfoot.

After a second break, Benneteau kept himself on top and served his way into the final four of the tournament.
