Tommy Robredo retires after five games at Australian Open

15th seed Tommy Robredo retires after just five games of his Australian Open match with Eduoard Roger-Vasselin.

Tommy Robredo has withdrawn from his Australian Open first-round contest with Eduoard Roger-Vasselin.

The 15th seed had opened up an early 3-2 lead against his opponent before opting to bring an abrupt halt to his match.

While it was unclear what caused the Spaniard to retire, the problem could be related to a leg injury that forced him to pull out in Auckland last week.

Roger-Vasselin will play either Malek Jaziri or Mikhail Kukushkin in the last 64.
