Jazz Carlin: 'Commonwealth Games adventure has been a whirlwind'

Jazz Carlin says that her Commonwealth Games campaign has been a "whirlwind" after winning two medals in two days.

Team Wales swimmer Jazz Carlin has said that she has had an "incredible" experience at the Commonwealth Games.

The 23-year-old won her second medal of Glasgow 2014 in the pool last night with success in the 400m freestyle, just a day after winning gold in the 800m freestyle.

It was to be double joy for Wales at the Tollcross Swimming Centre as Georgia Davies also came out on top in the 50m backstroke for Wales to win the country's second swimming gold medal in 40 years.

"The past 48 hours have been a whirlwind, it's been incredible," Carlin told reporters after her race. "The 800m freestyle is difficult - there are lots of tactics and you don't want to move too soon or too late. I think I had a few people worried but I managed to time it right.

"Georgia and I have trained together for seven years, to have shared this moment together and come away with two medals each, we couldn't have asked for more."

Wales have now surpassed their predicted tally of 26 medals.
