Tokyo 2020 - Caeleb Dressel notches up sixth Olympic gold

Caeleb Dressel has stormed to victory in the men's 50m freestyle event to claim his fourth gold medal of Tokyo 2020 and his sixth Olympic gold medal overall.

The 24-year-old finished almost half a second clear of his closest competitor as he swam an Olympic-record time of 21.07 seconds.

Florent Manaudou of France - gold medallist in the event at London 2012 and silver medallist at Rio 2016 - finished 0.48 seconds back for another second place on the podium.

Brazilian swimmer Bruno Fratus, 32, finally got his hands on an Olympic medal, taking the bronze with an impressive time of 21.57 seconds.

Elsewhere, Team GB's Ben Proud swam a respectable time of 21.72 seconds to finish joint fifth.
