Clary bags 200m backstroke gold

Tyler Clary caused something of an upset in the men's 200m backstroke final, beating United States teammate Ryan Lochte to gold.

Lochte got off to an early lead, but slipped away in the final 50m, allowing Clary and Ryosuke Irie of Japan to overtake him.

Clary's time of 1:53.41 was a new Olympic record, while Irie took silver for his 1:53.78 finish, leaving Lochte with bronze.

Lochte is in action again tonight when he takes on Michael Phelps in the men's 200m individual medley.
