Australia's Emily Seebohm struggled to shake off events of 100m backstroke win

Australia's Emily Seebohm admits that she struggled to shake off last night's 100m backstroke win when she woke up this morning.

Australia's Emily Seebohm has admitted that she struggled to re-focus this morning after winning gold in the 100m backstroke final at the World Championships last night.

The 23-year-old was back in the pool this morning for the 50m backstroke heats, which she eased through in 27.75s.

After qualifying for the semi-finals, Seebohm told SwimVortex: "I didn't feel fantastic when I got up this morning but I am definitely starting to lighten up a bit. My thing is always to improve from heats to semis to final so hopefully I can just improve on that and keep pushing it down."

Seebohm will compete in the 50m backstroke semi-finals in the evening session.
