Clean sweep for Oz in S9 backstroke

Australia have completed yet another trifecta in the pool at the Commonwealth Games, taking all three spots on the podium in the men's S9 100m backstroke event.

Brenden Hall won bronze in the freestyle version of the event on Friday but took top honours this time around, coming from fourth to first in the second length to finish with a time of 1:04.73.

Aussie teammate Timothy Hodge settled for silver, finishing 0.26 seconds back, while Logan Powell rounded off the podium for the home nation with a time of 1:05.29.

England had two competitors in the event, Jacob Leach and freestyle silver medallist Lewis White, who finished in fifth and sixth respectively.

Northern Ireland's Barry McClements brought up the rear with a time of 1:09.08.
