Kimberly Rhode became the first American to win an individual-sport medal in five successive Olympic Games on Sunday when she won gold in women's skeet shooting.
Rhode scored 99 points and set an Olympic record, while also tying the world record in the final. The gold she won on Sunday followed the gold medal she won in double trap at Atalanta 1996 and bronze in the same event four years later at Sydney.
Rhode won gold again at Athens 2004 in double trap and silver medal in Beijing four years ago.
Wei Ning of China finished behind the American on Sunday, winning silver medal with 91 points.
Slovakia's Danka Bartekova and Marina Belikova of Russia were tied for the third spot with 90 points, but the former prevailed in a shootout.
