Team GB's Jonathan Hammond misses out in 50m rifle prone

Jonathan Hammond has missed out on a place in 50m rifle prone final at the European Games.

The Great Britain representative had started well as he searched for a top-eight placing that would keep him in the hunt for a medal.

However, a poor fourth attempt derailed his hopes and despite finishing strongly, he ended the qualification stage in 20th place.

Belarusian Sergei Martynov topped the standings with a total of 620 points, two more than anyone else in the field.
