Bermuda to host 2017 America's Cup

Oracle have announced that Bermuda will be the setting for the defence of their America's Cup title in 2017.

After they fought back from 8-1 down to defeat Team New Zealand 9-8 in 2013, Oracle earned the right to decide on the next venue, with their choice of Bermuda being the first time that a US team has opted to defend their trophy outside of their own country.

Four-time Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie played an integral part in Oracle's triumph, but he will lead his own team, Ben Ainslie Racing, at the next event.

Last week, it was announced that Portsmouth would host two preparation events in the summers of 2015 and 2016.
