Result: Saracens 25-5 Newcastle Falcons

Tries from Joe Maddock, Alex Goode and James Short helped Saracens overcome the challenge of Newcastle Falcons at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

Charlie Hodgson was also in scoring form for Sarries, adding two conversions and two penalties to take his side's tally for the afternoon to 25 points.

Visiting Falcons struggled to string any passing moves together, with their only score coming in the 17th minute when Luke Fielden ran in a try.

It would prove to be a day to forget for Falcons' Jimmy Gopperth, who failed to convert Fielden's try, while he also missed a penalty.
