Late Daniel Braid try sees Sale Sharks beat Harlequins

Daniel Braid scores the only try of the match on 68 minutes as Sale Sharks beat Harlequins 16-12 in a low-scoring Aviva Premiership match at Twickenham Stoop.

Daniel Braid scored a 68th-minute try to snatch Sale Sharks a 16-12 victory over Harlequins in the Aviva Premiership tonight.

His late score was the only try of an evening which had previously been dominated by the boots of Nick Evans and Danny Cipriani.

England hopeful Cipriani got the Sharks on the scoreboard with a second-minute penalty, but Evans swiftly responded in turn.

Quins went in front for the first time on 16 minutes courtesy of another three points from their number 10, only for Cipriani to kick Sale level by the interval.

Evans twice more put the hosts ahead at Twickenham Stoop before Braid made the crucial contribution by bursting through to touch down and put the Sharks 14-12 ahead.

Cipriani added the extras to secure Sale a fourth win of the season, which takes them above Quins in the table.
