LV= Cup roundup: Wins for Leicester Tigers, Sale Sharks, Ospreys

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Saturday's matches in the LV= Cup as Leicester Tigers Sale Sharks and Ospreys all record impressive wins.

Leicester Tigers crushed Cardiff Blues with an impressive win at Cardiff Arms Park this afternoon to maintain their unbeaten start to the LV= Cup.

The home side were ahead early on as Gareth Davies kicked three penalties in the opening 20 minutes, but the Tigers took the lead just before the break, while Adam Thompstone added two tries late on.

Sale Sharks secured their second victory of the tournament as they eased to a comfortable win over Scarlets, scoring six tries to notch up a 35-point victory.

Tom Arscott crossed the line twice either side of half time, while Frazier Climo added the only points of the game for the visitors with a first-half penalty.

A dominant second-half performance from Newcastle Falcons secured them an emphatic win over London Irish.

Just eight points separated the sides at the break, but two tries from Ally Hogg and a score off the bench from Jamie Helleur saw the visitors surge ahead.

Ospreys needed a late try to secure their first win of the season in the Ango-Welsh Cup with a narrow victory over Bath, who led for most of the match.

Richard Lane put the hosts ahead inside the opening 15 minutes, but a late score from Matthew Dwyer edged the Welsh side in front with just two minutes to spare.

Gloucester Rugby dominated the second half to secure a win over Harlequins, who failed to score in the second 40 minutes.

Aled Thomas's first-half penalties gave the home side the advantage at the break, but Ugo Monye kept Harlequins in contention until Steph Rowan and Jacob Reynolds put the win beyond doubt for Gloucester.

Wasps rarely threatened to score as they slipped to defeat to Aviva Premiership champions Northampton Saints, leaving them with just one win so far in the cup.

Alex Lozowski kicked two penalties before the break to give the visitors a chance, but Saints ran in two tries within 10 minutes of the restart to take the game away from Wasps.
