Lyn Jones named Newport Gwent Dragons director of rugby

Lyn Jones has been named as the new director of rugby at Newport Gwent Dragons.

The 49-year-old recently stepped down as coach at London Welsh in order to be closer to his family.

Previous director of rugby Robert Beale has been installed as team manager, while Darren Edwards will stay on as head coach.

However, assistant coach Rob Appleyard has left the club by mutual consent.

Jones had a brief spell as forwards coach at Newport five years ago.
