Hugo Southwell named London Wasps captain

Hugo Southwell has been named as London Wasps captain ahead of the 2012-13 campaign.

The Scotland international takes over the captaincy from the retiring John Hart while South African Marco Wentzel will take up the deputy role.

"It couldn't be a bigger honour to be named captain and I'm hugely looking forward to it," said Southwell.

"I feel there is a different dynamic at the club this year with the players we have brought in. We've added some real quality so it's going to be a privilege to lead them out."

Southwell was voted Players' Player of the Season following the 2011-12 campaign.
