Chris Bell will miss the next six months for London Wasps with an Achilles tendon injury.

London Wasps will have to make do without the services of Chris Bell for six months.

The 28-year-old centre ruptured his Achilles tendon during his side's Amlin Challenge Cup victory over Rovigo.

"We are all gutted for Chris, who has been one of our standout players all season," said director of rugby Dai Young.

"He has made a big impact on the field and it's a big blow for us that he won't play a further part for this length of time.

"Belly is a big part of our plans here and he will receive excellent support throughout his rehab to make sure he comes back strongly."

Bell, 28, joined Wasps from Sale.
