London Irish 29-22 Bath Rugby

London Irish secure their first win of the season with a 29-22 victory at home to Bath Rugby.

London Irish have secured their first win of the season with a 29-22 victory at home to Bath Rugby.

The soon-departing Olly Barkley kicked Bath into an early lead but Steven Shingler hit back and after a flurry of early penalties Irish led 9-6.

Bath wing Kyle Eastmond linked up nicely with Nick Abendanon to score the opening try, putting Bath 13-9 up.

Irish scored a try just before half-time, with Halani Aulika bundling over from a line-out to regain a 19-13 lead.

London Irish maintained the advantage throughout the second half, with Jonathan Joseph scoring the only try.

Barkley and Shingler continued to exchange penalties but Irish held off some late Bath pressure to win 29-22.
