Northampton Saints withstand London Irish fightback

Northampton Saints have recorded their second consecutive victory in this season's LV= Cup thanks to a 39-18 win at London Irish.

Howard Packman and Ethan Waller both touched down for the visitors during a dominant first half, with the in-form Glenn Dickson kicking over another 16 points.

Myles Dorrian scored two penalties for the hosts in response, but that did little to stop them going in 6-26 down at the break.

Irish staged something of a second-half comeback as Alex Toolis and Kieran Low both went over, but Ben Nutley's try and another eight points from Dickson made sure that Northampton got over the line.
