Leicester Tigers too strong for London Wasps

Leicester Tigers close in on a playoff place with a 27-15 win over London Wasps in the Aviva Premiership.

The match was close in the first half as Guy Thompson cancelled out an early effort from Manu Tuilagi, leaving the visitors just four points down at the break.

Tuilagi was able to add a second after half time, while Vereniki Goneva and David Mele also found the try line to help Leicester open up their advantage.

Elliot Daly tried to give the visitors some late hope with a chip down field, but the hosts were able to collect it to end the danger.

The result leaves the defending champions third in the table, nine points clear of fifth-placed Harlequins.
