Murphy announces retirement from rugby

Leicester Tigers wing Geordan Murphy has confirmed his retirement from professional rugby.

The 35-year-old, who has made more than 300 appearances for the Premiership outfit, announced his retirement from international duty with Ireland last May.

Murphy has won seven Premiership titles with the Tigers and also played in their Heineken Cup successes in 2001 and 2002.

As yet, no official statement has been released by Leicester.
