Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill admits that he is pleased with his side's defensive performance following Friday's 20-8 victory at Sale Sharks.

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill has admitted that he was pleased with his side's defensive display following their 20-8 victory at Sale Sharks.

Despite being 6-8 down at the break, fly-half George Ford kicked over 14 of his side's points to give them their fourth win out of a possible five on Friday night.

"[Sale] were very good for their lead at half-time, but I thought our boys kept their composure," said Cockerill. "It's a good win as they were obviously desperate for the win.

"Sale played really well and we dealt with that pressure. Our commitment was good defensively and was as good as we've been for a long time."

The victory has lifted the Tigers up to third in the Aviva Premiership table.
