Stankovich handed three-week ban

Leicester Tigers' Boris Stankovich has been handed a three-week ban by Rugby Football Union disciplinary chiefs.

The prop was penalised for violent conduct during his side's LV= Cup victory over London Irish at Welford Road last Sunday.

Stankovich was dismissed for a bad tackle on Darren Allinson and was alleged to have stamped on Alex Corbisiero during the fixture.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to both offences, and the severity of his punishment was intended to reflect the two combined.

Stankovich is now unavailable until December 12, meaning that he will miss out on the Aviva Premiership showdowns with London Wasps and Bath, as well as the Heineken Cup tie against Treviso.
