The home side made a strong start to the match as tries from Miles Benjamin and Jordan Crane put them 14-3 up inside the opening quarter of an hour.

Rhys Priestland kept the visitors in contention with a couple of penalties though, before a Rob Evans try shortly before the break left the Scarlets just three point adrift at half time.

The Tigers made a strong start to the second half, as Adam Thompstone burst clear to cross the line shortly after the action resumed, before Youngs added a brace in the space of five minutes.

Harry Robinson added a couple of late tries for the Scarlets as they pushed to get back into the match, but there was not enough time left for the Welsh side.
