Edinburgh and Leinster both booked their places in the Heineken Cup semi-finals on Saturday with two very different wins.

Edinburgh narrowly edged out four-time winners Toulouse in front of a record-breaking Murrayfield crowd to become the first Scottish side to reach the last four of the competition.

Mike Blair scored the home side's only try, while Greig Laidlaw kicked over 14 points as the Scots secured an historic win against the much-fancied French club.

Meanwhile Leinster progressed in emphatic style as they brushed aside Cardiff Blues 34-3 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Rob Kearney touched down twice as the defending champions stretched their unbeaten run in the tournament to 13 matches.

Munster host Ulster, while Saracens entertain Clermont Auvergne, in Sunday's two remaining quarter-finals.
