Barry Davies unlikely to join London Welsh?

Welshman Barry Davies will reportedly miss out on a spot at London Welsh as the newly-promoted Aviva Premiership side try to meet the 14 'English qualified' players requirement.

Former Ospreys full-back Barry Davies is unlikely to complete a move to London Welsh, despite reports claiming that the player was closing in on a switch to the Aviva Premiership side.

The newly-promoted outfit were thought to be interested in the 31-year-old, following coach Lyn Jones's open admiration for the former Brive player.

It is believed that the Exiles are attempting to meet the requirement of 14 'English qualified' players for their 23-man matchday squads, which would rule out an approach for Welshman Davies, according to ESPN.

Davies joined Ospreys in 2009 but is now currently without a club following the end of his contract.
