Hazell facing lengthy ban

Gloucester Rugby flanker Andy Hazell has been summoned to a disciplinary hearing regarding his red card during the 11-6 win over Mont-de-Marsan last Thursday.

The 34-year-old was sent off by referee Neil Hennessy for punching Sebastien Ormaechea after 55 minutes of the Amlin Challenge Cup match at Stade Guy Boniface.

Video footage also showed Hazell's knee connecting with Ormaechea's head.

The hearing, in which Roger Morris will act as the independent Judicial Officer, will take place on October 26.

Hazell is ineligible to play until the completion of the disciplinary process. He could receive a maximum suspension of 52 weeks if found guilty.
