Gregor Townsend: Glasgow Warriors prepared for "massive" Bath clash

Gregor Townsend insists that his Glasgow Warriors players are "really looking forward" to taking on an in-form Bath side this weekend.

Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend has acknowledged that tomorrow afternoon's meeting with Bath Rugby is a "massive game for the club".

The Scottish outfit must pick up a victory at the Recreation Ground in order to keep their European hopes alive and progress through to the quarter-finals of the showpiece event for the first time.

Warriors find themselves third in the table heading into the last round of pool fixtures, sitting one point behind opponents Bath and two off leaders Toulouse.

"This is a massive game for the club and we're really looking forward to the challenge of playing one of the form teams in Europe," Townsend is quoted as saying by the Evening Times.

"The qualification picture will be a lot clearer come tomorrow lunchtime, but we know that a win could be enough for us to qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament for the first time - and that is something which really excites everyone at the club.

"It's great to still be in contention to qualify going into the final round of games and we'll probably have to produce our best performance of the season to win tomorrow."

The five group winners will progress through to the next round, along with the three best runners-up, meaning that Glasgow may need other results to go their way this weekend.
