Exeter survive late Wasps surge

Exeter Chiefs have held on to secure a 30-26 win over London Wasps in the Aviva Premiership.

Tom James added the only try of the first half as Exeter took a slender three-point lead into the break, despite the visitors having Ashley Johnson in the sin bin.

A further score from James and a James Scaysbrook effort allowed the hosts to extend their lead early in the second period, but a 68th-minute try from Christian Wade kept Wasps in the match.

Johnson added a further try with three minutes left to play, leaving the visitors just four points down, but they were unable to find the try line again.

The result leaves Wasps without a win so far this season.
