Bath narrowly beat Exeter

Bath Rugby have registered a narrow 27-23 win over Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership.

Ollie Devoto scored from a solo effort to capitalise on a strong start by the visitors, but Ben White was able to give Exeter a lead against the run of play just before half time with their opening try of the match.

The visitors dominated the start of the second half, and that resulted in tries for Kyle Eastmond and Nick Abendanon.

However, Ian Whitten responded for the home side, leaving Exeter just one point behind.

It was a nervous final 15 minutes for Bath as Chiefs tried to find the potentially game-winning score, but the visitors were awarded a penalty as time expired, allowing George Ford to kick his second penalty of the contest and seal the victory.

The result leaves Bath third in the table, four points clear of Harlequins.
