Exeter Chiefs coach Ricky Pellow 'really proud' of Anglo-Welsh Cup triumph

Exeter Chiefs skills coach Ricky Pellow has lavished praise on his players after they lifted the Anglo-Welsh Cup by defeating Bath 28-11 in the final.

The scrum-half said that he is "really proud" of his squad, who have become only the second Exeter team in history to lift the trophy.

"I'm really proud of this group of players as we thought we were out of this competition at various stages during the season," he told BBC Sport.

"The club has a squad of 48-52 players and we have faith in all of them.

"They showed that today by playing with emotion and passion in a competition that is a massive part of the club's development plan."

Two tries from Jack Innard and one from Toby Salmon is what clinched the trophy for Exeter, with Bath registering a consolation try through Cooper Vuna.
