Exeter thumped by Clermont

Exeter Chiefs have suffered their second consecutive defeat in this season's Heineken Cup as they went down 46-12 to Clermont Auvergne at Sandy Park.

Despite Napolioni Nalaga's converted try on 17 minutes, Gareth Steenson landed four penalties to give the home side the lead.

However, Morgan Parra had the last say of the half for Clermont as his penalty saw his side narrowly trail 10-12 at the break.

Parra kicked over again on 46 minutes before tries from Wesley Fofana and Julien Bonnaire put the visitors firmly in control.

Clermont moved out of sight in the final 10 minutes when Sitiveni Sivivatu, Fofana and Nalaga all touched down to earn the visitors a bonus point.
