Edinburgh come from behind to beat London Welsh

Edinburgh secure a comeback 25-13 win against London Welsh in their European Challenge Cup clash at Murrayfield.

Edinburgh came back from a five-point half-time deficit to secure a 25-13 win against London Welsh in this afternoon's European Challenge Cup clash at Murrayfield.

The hosts took the lead within the first few minutes when Tom Heathcote sent a straightforward penalty between the posts to put his side three points up.

In the 10th minute, Edinburgh were penalised for not rolling away, with Gordon Ross stepping up to take the kick and scoring with little difficulty to level proceedings.

Just after the quarter-hour mark, a Rhys Crane interception went on to set up Chris Elder, who crossed the whitewash to put Welsh into the lead, before Ross converted successfully.

Heathcote pulled Edinburgh back to 6-10 with a penalty in the 22nd minute, but the visitors ended the half on a high as Ross slotted another kick between the posts for a half-time advantage of 13-6.

The second half saw the hosts work themselves back into the game and secure their first try on 43 minutes through WP Nel, but the subsequent conversion was missed.

Edinburgh remained patient and were rewarded in the 67th minute when Neil Cochrane drove through the middle and offloaded to touch down, with Sam Hidalgo-Clyne converting successfully to extend the Scottish outfit's lead to 18-13.

And just four minutes later, the home side killed off the game when Rory Sutherland drove over for a converted try.
