Edinburgh centre Nick De Luca is suspended for 13 weeks following his red card during Friday's Pro12 defeat to Ospreys.

Edinburgh centre Nick De Luca has been given a 13-week ban following his red card during Friday's Pro12 defeat to Ospreys.

The 29-year-old was dismissed at the Liberty Stadium for a tip tackle on Tom Grabham.

"Having considered all of the evidence presented, including the video of the incident, the disciplinary committee considered the incident to be at the top end level for this type of offence, and decided that a suspension of 13 weeks was appropriate," read a statement from the league.

De Luca, who has won 38 caps for Scotland, has the right to appeal the suspension.
