Great Britain win bronze in the men's eight

Great Britain win bronze at Eton Dorney in the men's eight in a tough race behind Germany and Canada.

Great Britain claimed a bronze medal in the men's eight at Eton Dorney after a strong challenge.

Team GB made a fast start and kept pace with a formidable German team in the early stages and were in second place after 500m.

Reigning Olympic champions Canada were hot on their heels but Team GB remained second with just 500m to the finish.

In the closing stages the Canadians edged out the home nation to take silver, moving Britain back to third.

For GB's Greg Searle, the medal comes 20 years after he won gold in Barcelona.
