BOYLE Sports Grand National odds, specials and analysis (Saturday, 4 pm)

BOYLE Sports have one of the most extensive specials markets for the National, going well beyond the standard win and each-way. Their Aintree Grand National 2026 Specials section covers several angles worth considering.

  • JP McManus to own 1st, 2nd & 3rd: 20/1. Given McManus has Johnnywho, Iroko, Oscars Brother and others in the field, and given Mullins sent the first three home last year, with McManus horses prominent. This is a long shot but not an absurd one at the price.
  • Willie Mullins to train 1st, 2nd & 3rd: 28/1. He did exactly this last year. The stable runs seven horses in Saturday’s race. The price reflects how unlikely a clean sweep is, but it happened 12 months ago.
  • Number of finishers markets give another angle on the race. 16, 17 or 18 finishers is 9/4, the most likely bracket historically. 19, 20 or 21 finishers is 3/1, and 13, 14 or 15 finishers is 10/3. In a 34-runner field over 30 fences, roughly half the field typically finishes. These markets are worth considering as standalone specials or as part of a combination.
  • Top Willie Mullins Trained Runner is its own market. This is useful if you want Mullins’ yard to perform without committing to which specific horse. I Am Maximus heads it at 13/8, Grangeclare West is 2/1, Captain Cody 4/1, Quai De Bourbon 6/1 and Champ Kiely 7/1.

BOYLE Sports’ own blog piece by Dylan McHugh, published this week, flags a stat worth taking seriously: horses aged under ten have won the last ten Grand Nationals, a run that coincides with safety modifications made to the race’s fences and conditions. That cuts a number of older horses from the field and narrows the focus to the 8- and 9-year-olds.

I Am Maximus is 10, which gives some pause. Panic Attack is also 10. Johnnywho (8) and Oscars Brother (8) fit the age profile better.

Jollies v Rags is one of BOYLE Sports‘ more distinctive markets for Saturday’s 17:15 bumper today. The named selections, Harry Lowes, Sherminator, Pourquoi Pas Papa, Rubber Ball, are priced at 8/11, with the field (‘Rags’) at 10/11. Today’s price boosts also have Sherminator and Harry Lowes individually boosted to 4/1 (from 7/2 and 10/3 respectively) for the 17:15.

Saturday’s card also features today’s 12:45 Maghull Novices’ Chase, with Salvator Mundi at 4/5 and Mighty Bandit at 9/2, paying 3 places EW at 1/5 odds.

BOYLE Sports Grand National offers for existing customers

Money Back as a free bet if 2nd to SP Favourite runs across selected meetings at Aintree. Place a win or win part of an each-way outright single, and if your selection finishes second to the starting price favourite, your stake is returned as a free bet up to £10.

Minimum 5 runners must start. It applies to first-past-the-post results only. Unnamed second favourites don’t qualify, and free/void/antepost bets are excluded. One bet per race.

In a race with 34 runners where favourites finishing second is a realistic outcome, this is a practical safety net. Back a runner at double-figure odds each-way and the Money Back offer adds a layer of protection on top.

  • Extra places: 6 instead of 4 on the Grand National. 1/5 odds, places 1 through 6, where there are 20 or more runners. With 34 confirmed, this applies in full. BOG does not apply to extra-place races.
  • Best Odds Guaranteed covers all UK and Irish horse racing across the meeting. Take an early price and if SP is bigger, BOYLE Sports pay the higher odds.
