Betfred Grand National offer: 6 places paid each-way
Betfred are paying 6 places on each-way bets for the 2026 Grand National, at 1/5 the odds. In practice, that means in a 34-runner field where attrition is part of the course, a horse finishing fifth or sixth still pays a return on your each-way stake. Back a horse at 16/1 each-way and a sixth-place finish still pays out at over 3/1 on the place part.
To qualify, simply place an each-way single on the 2026 Grand National (16:00 Aintree) between 12:00 on 8 April and 16:00 on 11 April. Bets placed in Betfred shops, antepost bets placed before 12:00 on 8 April, and bets on specials or boosted markets do not qualify. The offer is open to new and existing verified online customers.

How to use the Betfred Grand National each-way offer
Most top horse racing betting sites pay 4 places on the Grand National as standard. Betfred’s 6-place offer adds two extra finishing positions, and in a race this unpredictable, that’s not a trivial difference.
For example, a £10 each-way bet at 20/1 with standard 4-place terms pays around £50 if your horse finishes fourth. With 6 places at 1/5 the odds, a fifth or sixth-place finish pays roughly £50 on top of your returned place stake. You’re getting a meaningful return from positions that would otherwise be a loss.
The offer runs from 12:00 on 8 April through to 16:00 on Saturday and is open to all verified online customers, new and existing. Betfred’s usual welcome offer is £50 in free bets for new customers, but the 6-place promotion is the one to focus on this week, regardless of whether you already have an account.
One thing to note: BetFred’s Best Odds Guaranteed does not apply to this promotion. If you’re planning to take an early price on a National runner and benefit from BOG, that bet won’t qualify for the 6-place terms. Place each-way National bets as separate online singles to ensure they count.
Betfred Grand National analysis (Saturday, 4 pm)
The 34-runner field is confirmed and Willie Mullins is chasing a third straight National. I Am Maximus heads the market. The 2024 winner and last year’s runner-up carries top weight off 168 with Paul Townend in the saddle. The horse handles Aintree better than almost anything in the field, but that weight is real.
Grangeclare West sits second in the market after a dominant season. Jagwar is the each-way pick many will land on: consistent, well treated, and his Cheltenham Ultima second behind Johnnywho reads well given the extra trip here.
Johnnywho himself is hard to dismiss. His Ultima win came on his first start back from a wind operation. That kind of performance on a comeback run doesn’t happen by accident. Panic Attack at 12/1 is another to note; Dan Skelton’s mare has been excellent all season and the yard has a strong record in big-field festival handicaps.
The 6-place terms are the practical angle. At 16/1 or 20/1 each-way with six places paid, you’re getting a return from positions that standard each-way terms wouldn’t cover. In a race where roughly a third of the field typically doesn’t finish, that coverage matters.
