How we tested and ranked accumulator sites
Choosing the best betting sites for accumulators involved five key areas, which we weighted in terms of importance:
- Plain odds offered
- Acca-specific mechanics (terms of the offer)
- Eligibility (how easy the mechanic is to trigger)
- Max winnings
- Market and depth of sport coverage
The headline acca boost is not the boost you’ll get
It’s important to note that many bookies advertise 100-200% boosts for accas. However, these massive percentages are quite deceiving, as they are only available to customers betting a huge number of legs (10+).
Taking 10 favorites at safe 1/2 (1.50) odds comes with an implied probability of winning of 1.73%. Building a multiple of 10 evens (2.0) selections has an implied probability of 0.10%. Needless to say, those aren’t great odds.
So, when you see a 20-leg acca boost of 200%, realize that it’s mainly just a PR move for top UK bookmakers. Most punters avoid massive multis (extreme longshots), instead opting for 4-6 selections to enhance their chance of success.
We combed through acca boost offers to highlight the headline boost percentage vs what they actually offer for realistic accumulator bets (4-6 selections).
| Bookmaker | Headline max boost | Legs needed for max | Boost on 4-fold | Boost on 5-fold | Boost on 6-fold | Cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. bet365 | 100% | 20+ | 7.5% | 10% | 12.5% | £100,000 |
| 2. BetMGM | 200% | 20+ | 5% | 7% | 10% | £250,000 |
| 3. Bet442 | 70% | 14-20 | 10% | 12% | 15% | Unstated |
| 4. BOYLE Sports | 100% | 20+ | 8% | 10% | 15% | £1,000 |
| 5. William Hill | 200% | 20+ | 5% | 7.5% | 10% | £10,000 |
| 6. Betfred | 100% | 20+ | n/a | 5% | 10% | £35,000 |
Testing acca odds boosts: which are the best?
To test actual acca boost percentage returns (factoring in the bookmaker margin), we placed a five-fold accumulator at each of the above six bookmakers on August 20. The acca involved BTTS in the following games: Ipswich v Sunderland, QPR v Bolton, Preston v Wolves, MK Dons v Huddersfield and Bromley v Cambridge
The return from a successful acca at each betting site from our test is displayed below:
| Bookmaker | Odds before boost | Return before boost (£10 stake) | 5-fold acca boost (%) | Return after boost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. bet365 | 14.6/1 | £156.00 | 10% | £170.66 |
| 2. William Hill | 14.3/1 | £153.12 | 7.5% | £163.85 |
| 3. Betfred | 13.9/1 | £149.17 | 5% | £156.00 |
| 4. Bet442 | 12.5/1 | £135.00 | 12% | £150.00 |
| 5. BetMGM | 12.9/1 | £139.00 | 7% | £148.13 |
| 6. BOYLE Sports | 11.79/1 | £127.90 | 10% | £139.67 |
From our findings, it’s clear that big acca boosts don’t make as much difference as low prices and low overround (the bookmaker’s cut). bet365, William Hill, and Betfred’s better odds were more important than any boost amount.
Bet442 had the strongest boost percentage for a five-fold at 12%, but its overall payout from a £10 stake was just the fourth highest on the list and returned £20.66 less than bet365 on the same five-fold acca from our test. On that same note, Betfred offered the lowest acca boost in our testing group at 5%, but still paid out £6 more than Bet442 because of more friendly odds.
The findings show that higher odds generally outweigh acca boosts when it comes to maximising your potential returns. That said, the real sweet spot is finding a bookmaker that combines competitive odds with a generous acca boost, giving you the best of both worlds. bet365 excelled at both.

Let’s dive into our in-depth rankings for the best acca betting sites in the UK, based on acca features and promos.
1. bet365: Best for boosted accas with just 2+ legs
Our bet365 review found plenty to like about the Acca Boost. In particular, we appreciated that you only need two legs to qualify for the boost. Pair that with friendly acca odds, and you’re left with the best accumulator betting site on this list.
- How it works: Make two selections and add a stake. The betslip displays odds, Acca Boost percentage (auto-applied) and total potential return.
- Minimum odds: 1/10 (1.1) per leg.
- Headline boost: 20+ legs at 100%.
- Boost percentages: Doubles are set at 2.5%. trebles 5%, four legs 7.5%, five 10% and six at 12.5%.

2. Sky Bet: Best for locking in a winning leg before it settles
Sky Bet’s flagship AccaFreeze feature allows you to lock in the result of one of your accumulator legs before it even settles. For example, if you selected a five-fold football acca (minimum legs) and one of the teams you picked goes up a goal, you can lock in that win even before the match ends, even if your backed team later loses or the match settles as a draw.
- How it works: Make five football selections that display the AccaFreeze symbol. Freeze one leg as a winner from ‘My Bets’ under the ‘Open Bets’ section. Click ‘Tap to Freeze’ and hit ‘Confirm’.
- Minimum odds and legs: No minimum odds, but a five-leg minimum.
- AccaFreeze restrictions: Sky Bet caps AccaFreeze usage at once a day and three freezes a week (Mon 8am-Mon 7.59am), plus only one leg per bet can be frozen.
- How it credits: Winnings paid as soon as the final leg is settled.
- Cap: £20 max stake.
- Eligible markets: Football match result markets only from main European leagues
- One drawback: Must have at least five selections.

3. BOYLE Sports: Best for acca flexibility
The BOYLE Sports Ultimate Acca (also known as Acca Rewards) allows punters to choose either a Boost or Insurance once a day. The Acca Boost gives boosted winnings depending on the number of legs (up to 100%), and the Acca Insurance offers up to a £20 refund if just one of your acca legs loses (refunded as free bets).
- How it works: On your first qualifying accumulator bet of the day, click Acca Boost or Acca Insurance (available once per day).
- Minimum odds and legs: 1/5 (1.2) per selection. 3+ legs for Acca and 5+ for Insurance. Minimum acca stake 5p.
- Headline boost: 20+ for a 100% bonus.
- Boost percentages: Three legs pay 5%, four pay 8%, five pay 10% and six pay 15%.
- How it credits: Acca Boost is paid as cash, while Acca Insurance is given as a free bet up to £20.
- Cap: Max Acca Rewards payout is £1,000.
- Eligible markets: All sports, pre-match and in-play.
- One drawback: Max bonus is lower than competitors.
What is a realistic acca worth at BOYLE Sports? BOYLE Sports finished at the bottom of our acca boost survey due to its bad pricing on accumulators in general. A five-fold acca at 11.79/1 (12.79) would have returned £139.67 from a £10 stake – £30.99 less than bet365.

Cons

4. Betfred: Best for acca cash refund
The Betfred Acca Flex offers punters 100% cashback up to £10 if just one selection of their five-fold accumulator comes up short or an acca boost of up to 100% (20+ legs). The Acca Flex promotion is available for pre-match or in-play football markets.
- How it works: Place a 5+ leg football acca to qualify. Punters can claim the promo once per day (no opt-in is required).
- Minimum odds, legs and stake: Min 1/2 (1.5) odds per leg, 5+ selections and at least 50p stake.
- Headline boost: 20+ legs for 100% bonus.
- Boost percentages: Five-leg minimum (5%), while six pays 10%.
- How it credits: Acca winnings and insurance are paid in cash within 24 hours of the final leg being settled.
- Cap: £35,000 winnings and £10 back for insurance if only one leg loses.
- Eligible markets: Football (pre-match and in-play)
- One drawback: Four-folds excluded
What is a realistic acca worth at Betfred? BTTS five-fold at 13.91/1 (14.91) with a 5% boost and a £10 stake would have paid £156.00, the third highest.

Cons

5. William Hill: Best for no limit daily allowance
The William Hill Acca Boost is a promo that automatically increases your payout percentage on winning football accumulator bets. Similar to bet365’s boost, you only need to make two selections to receive increased winnings. Unlike bet365, the boost percentage goes all the way up to 200% for 20+ leg accas. The acca boost can be used as many times as you want (unlimited use per day).
- How it works: Make 2+ selections on a football acca. After placing your stake, odds and potential return are displayed in the bet slip. The boost is automatically applied (no opt-in required).

What is a realistic acca worth at William Hill? William Hill had the second-best return from our testing because its odds on the five-fold were quite friendly. A £10 stake on our BTTS acca at odds of 14.31/1 (15.31) would have returned £163.85 with a 7.5% boost – £6.81 behind bet365.

6. BetMGM: Best for huge maximum winnings cap
BetMGM’s Golden Acca boosts accumulator winnings up to 200% (scaling by number of selections) like many of the other promotions on this page. However, BetMGM stands out with its generous maximum winnings cap of £250,000, which is more than double bet365’s £100,000 cap.
- How it works: Make selections on any sport. Odds will appear in the betslip with a sliding scale displaying the percentage boost. Once the stake is added, the betslip shows recalculated returns. Before placing the bet, click the Golden Acca/Profit Boost box in the betslip to activate the boost.
- Minimum odds, legs and stake: 3/10 (1.30) per leg, minimum 3+ selections and maximum stake of £500.
- Headline boost: 20+ legs for 200% maximum.

- One drawback: Low percentage boosts on 4-, 5- and 6-fold accas.
What is a realistic acca worth at BetMGM? A £10 stake in our BTTS acca at 12.91/1 (13.91) would have paid £148.13 with a 7% boost, more than £22 behind bet365.

7. Betfair: Best for £50 acca welcome offer
The Betfair welcome offer offers new customers £50 in free acca bets. To qualify, deposit and place a minimum £10 bet. Unfortunately, Betfair does not have a dedicated acca boost or insurance promo.
- How it works: Sign up at Betfair using the promo code (ZSKAOL), deposit at least £10 and bet £10 to receive 5x £10 free accumulator bets.
- Minimum odds and stake: Evens (2.0) for the £10 qualifying bet
- Minimum legs for free acca bets: 2+ legs
- How it credits: Tokens are awarded once your qualifying bet settles and are valid for 30 days.

- Eligible markets: All sports, except virtual.
- One drawback: Customers have to manually accept the £5 free bet before 23.59 on Sunday.

Cons

9. Bet442: Best for high boost percentages for realistic accas
Bet442’s Combo Boost (also known as Acca Boost) offers the highest bonuses on accas between four and six legs. For successful four-fold accumulators, punters get a 10% boost. For five-folds, 12%. And for six-folds, 15%. However, this is undermined by the betting site’s sometimes unfriendly odds on accumulator bets.
- How it works: Add a football-only acca (minimum of 3+ legs) and the combo boost percentage will automatically be applied and shown in your betslip.
- Minimum odds, legs and stake: 1/2 (1.5) minimum per selection, three leg minimum and no max stake.
- Headline boost: 14+ for a 70% boost.
- Boost percentages: Three selections (5%), four (10%), five (12%) and six 15%.
- How it credits: The boost is automatically applied when building a qualifying acca bet.
- Cap: A few third-party reviews claim Bet442 operates an £11,000 maximum on Combo Boost winnings, but this info is missing on the promotion page.
- Eligible markets: Football (top European leagues)
- One drawback: Decent bonus percentages are sometimes undermined by bad pricing.
What is a realistic acca worth at Bet442? Poor odds meant Bet442 finished in the bottom half of our testing despite the high boost percentage. A £10 stake at 12.5/1 (13.5) would have paid £150.00 with a 12% bonus.

Acca boost or acca insurance: which should you pick?
Some bookies (Betfred and BOYLE Sports) offer both acca boost and acca insurance but make you choose which to use. Which is the best option?
Customers must include three legs to qualify for BOYLE Sports’ acca option and five for the insurance, at minimum odds of 1/5 (1.2) per selection. The max refund is £20 (awarded as a free bet token equal to your lost stake).
Betfred’s acca and insurance scheme, though, is applied automatically. Pick five legs to qualify for both the acca bonus and insurance at minimum odds of 1/2 (1.5) per leg and place at least 50p as a stake. One other difference between the two is that Betfred’s insurance return comes back as up to £10 cash instead of a free bet, which is much more valuable.
Going back to our BTTS acca, here’s what you would have received in both scenarios:
| Bookmaker | Return if all five legs in our test landed | Insurance return if one leg had failed to land |
|---|---|---|
| Betfred | £156.00 | £10 cash |
| BOYLE Sports | £139.67 | £20 free bet |
Choosing between the boost and insurance option is a matter of mentality when faced with accas which naturally favour the bookmaker. If you prefer more risk and higher reward, opting for the acca boost is the move. However, if you prefer a safer play, then go with acca insurance.
Cash refunds vs free bet refunds
In short, cash refunds are much more valuable than free bet refunds. That’s because of the strings attached to free bets. Typically, free acca bets must be used at certain odds, with a certain number of selections and expire after a certain number of days. Additionally, free bets only return profits and not the stake itself.
On the other hand, cash refunds can be used however you please and don’t expire at all. They just go straight to your existing bankroll and can even be withdrawn if you want.
What silently cancels your acca boost
There are several reasons why your acca boost didn’t apply or was voided. The main one is a failure to meet the eligibility requirements, which are often buried in a long list of T&Cs.
The two most important T&Cs to remember when taking advantage of acca promotions are minimum odds per selection and minimum legs (shown below in the table for each of our best accumulator betting sites in this list):
| Bookmaker | Free Bets OK? | Min odds per leg | Minimum legs | Opt-in needed? | In-play legs OK? | All Sports? | Cash out allowed? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Responsible gambling
Everyone should gamble in a responsible manner and not treat it as a way of solving financial problems, but if you find it’s taking control of your life, there are several routes to take that can provide help. It’s important to realize that accas in particular are a riskier form of sports betting and should be handled with care.
GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020133 are both available resources, and GAMSTOP shows you how to block access to your accounts.
Every UKGC licensee has tools available such as deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and reality checks to promote safer gambling. Make use of them if necessary.

FAQs
Which betting site has the best acca boost?
Bet442 has the best acca boost because it concentrates on realistic leg counts between four and six rather than the headline maximum. Bet442 offers 10% bonuses for four legs, 12% for five and 15% for six.
What’s the difference between acca boost and acca insurance?
An acca boost pays out more than the standard odds if all the selections land. The more legs you pick, the bigger the percentage increase. Acca insurance pays you back in cash or as a free bet if one of your legs fails to win.
How many selections do you need for acca insurance?
To qualify for acca insurance you usually have to make five selections.
Do bet builders qualify for acca boosts?
Bet builders do not qualify for acca boosts with bet365 which specifically rules them out on its promotion page. Other operators make no reference to bet builders in their T&Cs.
Can you use a free bet on an acca and still get the boost?
Bet365 does not allow free credits to be used in its Acca Boost promotion. Most bookmakers exclude free bets when boosting the odds on multiples. However, Sky Bet permits the use of Free Bets with its AccaFreeze offer.
Is acca insurance paid in cash or as a free bet?
Acca insurance is paid as free bets with nearly all bookmakers except Betfred which gives cash refunds capped at £10. Free bets usually always come with a seven-day expiry and minimum odds, often Evens (2.0). Cash has no such restrictions and can be withdrawn by the customer.
What happens to your acca boost if a match is postponed?
If a match in your acca boost is postponed then the bet is recalculated with the remaining selections. If there are still enough games to be eligible for an acca boost then you will receive the percentage for that number. However, if your boost falls outside the minimum leg requirement, it will be settled as a normal bet without the bonus.
What is AccaFreeze and which bookmaker offers it?
Sky Bet is the only bookmaker to offer AccaFreeze. Pick five pre-match football games and wherever the AccaFreeze symbol appears in the sportsbook, you can lock in that selection as a winner if the team you have selected takes the lead. Only one freeze a day and three a week permitted.
