IOC president praises "excellent" Sochi Games

International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach has hailed the "excellent" Winter Olympics ahead of today's closing ceremony.

The Sochi Games came under much criticism in the build-up to the event, but have passed by without any major issues.

"These were excellent Games that may lead to the reversal of some criticism," Bach told reporters in a press conference.

Great Britain won four medals during the Games, equalling their best ever tally.
