USA footballer Hope Solo speaks out on nude photo scandal

USA female footballer Hope Solo has claimed that it is "extremely sad" that a number of female celebrities have had their private images and messages leaked online.

The sportswoman is believed to be one of many celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kim Kardashian, who have been targeted.

"It is extremely sad and unfortunate that the rights of so many women were violated by the unauthorized release of private photographs," Solo told TMZ.

"This act goes beyond the bounds of human decency and, as such, I stand united with all the women affected and am exploring every option to protect my privacy."

Solo also released a statement maintaining her innocence in relation to possible domestic violence charges following an incident involving her 17-year-old nephew.
