Freddy Adu rubbishes rumours he has become a nightclub promoter

Former USA international Freddy Adu has denied reports that he is now working as a nightclub promoter.

The 25-year-old is rumoured to have begun the new job after he was pictured in adverts promoting clubs and bars.

However, Adu has responded to the reports by clarifying that he was the host of a club night at Shadowroom and has not changed his profession.

He tweeted: "Still can't get over the fact that some people actually thought I was a nightclub promoter lol. Some journalist trolling for traffic #yikes

"I am NOT a nightclub owner or a promoter. My focus is on soccer 100 percent. Hope this clears everything up. Thank you! #donewiththis."

Adu has had spells at DC United and Benfica during his career.
