Stoke City director Keith Humphreys has said that he is considering legal action against the BBC, after a Panorama documentary accused him of tax evasion.
The programme, which was broadcast last night, said that HSBC bank has helped 106,000 wealthy clients to avoid tax.
Humphreys allegedly told HSBC that his father's £280,000 Swiss account is not declared for tax, but he has since insisted that his father settled the account in 2011.
He told The Sentinel: "I did send a letter to Panaroma at 5.30pm today on this and I might be taking legal action against the BBC. I will be speaking to my lawyers tomorrow.
"The programme indicated I had a Swiss bank account, which I never had. I'm very disappointed with it and I feel it has been totally misinterpreted."
Humphreys was Stoke chairman between 1997 and 1999.
