Pennant 'refused entry to US'

Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant has reportedly been refused entry to the United States due to his previous criminal convictions.

The 30-year-old has been unable to join the Potters on their pre-season tour due to old drink-driving offences.

Pennant will stay behind and train with the club's Under-21s and miss Stoke's three-game tour in the US, according to the Daily Mail.

This is the second successive year that Pennant has been denied entry to the States.
