Stoke City's Wilson Palacios joins campaign to tackle gang culture

Stoke City midfielder Wilson Palacios reveals that he is trying to tackle gang culture following the death of his brother.

Stoke City midfielder Wilson Palacios is hopeful that he can help tackle the problem of gang culture by teaming up with coffee brand Kenco in a new campaign.

The 30-year-old's passion to steer young people in the right direction comes from the pain his family went through when his 14-year-old brother Edwin was kidnapped by an armed gang in 2007 and eventually found dead.

Palacios has claimed that he wants to focus on gang culture in the UK as well as his native country of Honduras.

"I want to give an example to young people growing up in hard times that they don't have to join gangs or get into a life of crime," the Daily Star quotes Palacios as saying. "I hope they can see there is another way."

The campaign alongside Kenco aims to raise awareness of the dangers of gang culture.
