Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has paid tribute to the winners at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards after attending the ceremony at Grosvenor House Hotel in London last night.

The 33-year-old was joined by his wife Abbey and shared a table with Manchester City's Frank Lampard and his fiancee Christine Bleakley.

Crouch attended the awards, which will be aired on ITV this evening, to help celebrate the country's unsung heroes.

At the end of the evening, Crouch tweeted: "Amazing event proud to have been there to hear such amazing stories upsetting but inspirational #PrideOfBritain."

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen, whose recent claims about his ex-teammtes have sparked controversy, was also at the ceremony alongside his wife Jessica.
