Ched Evans's website 'investigated for posting CCTV footage of rape victim'

Evans's website posts video of rape victim

Ched Evans's official website is reportedly being investigated by North Wales Police after CCTV footage of the ex-Sheffield United striker's rape victim was posted online.

The website campaigning for Evans's innocence, which is said to be run by his friends and family, has shown a video of the then-19-year-old woman arriving at the Premier Inn hotel outside Rhyl, Wales prior to the rape in May 2011.

The footage has been posted beneath a headline reading, 'Too drunk to consent, too drunk to remember?', and the text asks viewers to "judge for themselves" the actions of the victim, who is now 22 years old.

A spokesperson for the North Wales Police told The Independent: "We are aware the footage has been released and are looking into the matter."

According to The Mirror, the hotel where the rape took place has not given the website permission for the CCTV footage to be published.

Evans, who has maintained his innocence throughout, served half of a five-year sentence in prison and was released last Friday.
