Architect reveals Bernabeu plans

An architect designing Real Madrid's new stadium reveals some of his plans.

Tristan Lopez-Chiceri of the L35 firm has revealed some of the plans for Real Madrid's new Bernabeu stadium.

The architect has said that the project will not begin until the summer of 2015, but has admitted his excitement at the plans.

"It'll be mixed use building [including hotel and retail] which also has football. The Bernabeu can't be just an 'island' used on game days," he told ABC.

"It's a bigger stadium than seems [in the models]. A hotel will have to go in at the highest level as underneath will be the VIP boxes. We will not begin until the spring/summer of 2015 though."

On the pitch, Real Madrid are currently unbeaten in their last 24 matches.
