Facey sentenced over match-fixing scandal

Former Premier League footballer Delroy Facey has been given a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for his part in a match-fixing scandal.

The 35-year-old and co-defendant Moses Swaibu were found guilty of conspiracy to commit bribery at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday.

Ex-Crystal Palace trainee Swaibu, 25, has been sentenced to 16 months for his part in the crime. The pair will serve half of their sentences in jail and half on licence.

Facey's former clubs include Bolton Wanderers, Hull City and West Bromwich Albion.
