Woman sacked over Papiss Cisse payday loan shop photo

A worker for a payday loan shop claims to have been sacked after picturing Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse using the service.

A woman has been sacked after taking a photo of Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse using a payday loan shop.

Natasha Shiels was dismissed from The Money Shop for posting an image of the Senegalese forward using the service, which her manager stated breached "customer confidentiality".

The 26-year-old told the Newcastle Chronicle: "Cisse makes all this money and for a photo I've been sacked. I just find the whole thing ridiculous. What upsets me the most is the fact that I've got a one-year-old and it's hard these days to get a job.

"There's me thinking 'Eee there's a footballer' and I take a photo. I was just excited. I was behind the counter doing money transfers, but I didn't do his money transfer."

Cisse made a stand against payday loans ahead of the current season because of his religious beliefs, initially refusing to wear a shirt bearing the logo of Wonga.
