Demba Ba receives six-month driving ban

Ba banned from driving

Newcastle United forward Demba Ba has been banned from driving for six months after he was found guilty of failing to provide police with information.

The 27-year-old's car was twice seen speeding but Ba failed to provide the police with information regarding who was driving the car on both occasions.

South East Northumberland Magistrates Court were informed that the player failed to attend two earlier hearings and that he had ignored police letters sent to him in November 2011.

Ba was also fined £1,000 and told to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
