Leroy Fer's Netherlands photo 'attracts racist comments'

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Leroy Fer has become embroiled in a racism storm after an image he posted online attracted discriminatory comments.

The 24-year-old tweeted a photo of himself with a number of his Netherlands teammates, including Memphis Depay, while on international duty.

Website Voetbalzone.nl posted the picture on their Facebook page, which received a number of comments of a racist nature over the weekend.

According to BBC Sport, the Dutch Football Association have called for a criminal investigation to be launched after learning of the racist abuse.

Fer told De Telegraaf: "It feels like those people are saying 'you don't belong in the Dutch team'."
